Somewhat further away to the west, at 60-95 m above sea level, facing south towards the Rhine. Sankt Nikolaus – with vines that are, in part, well over 60 years old. Very fine, almost powdery soil, with a layer of calcareous loess on river pebbles and Taunus quartzite. In fruit and spiciness again much brighter than the Doosberg – but no less monumental in its intense chalky-smoky minerality. Light stone fruit but also citrus fruits, with herbal and floral nuances. Very powerful but at the same time with every fiber of its body turned towards the sun, flooded with light and profoundly radiant. Finishes with a salty, savory, spiciness. Incredibly expressive.
